The High-End Petrochemical New Materials Investment Promotion Conference was held in Huizhou, Guangdong on January 6, 2025 with a total of 94 cooperation projects signed with a planned investment amount of 92.902 billion yuan.
The conference kicked off in the morning with a field visit and inspection of the Huizhou New Materials Industry Park and Daya Bay Petrochemical Zone. Guests had an "immersive" understanding of the current status of Huizhou's petrochemical new material industry and explored its potential for development.
The Huizhou New Materials Industry Park, only 10 kilometers away from the Daya Bay Petrochemical Zone, focuses on the development of advanced synthetic materials, high-end chemicals, and cutting-edge new materials industries.
Daya Bay Petrochemical Zone is the only petrochemical industrial base in Guangdong Province selected for key national construction, attracting 114 projects with a total investment of 325.2 billion yuan so far. Among these, 13 are Fortune Global 500 companies, involving in 53 investment projects, with nearly 90% of the investments coming from them and leading enterprises in the industry within the park.
The petrochemical zone has an annual refining capacity of 22 million tons and an ethylene production capacity of 3.8 million tons, ranking the first among the "Top 30 Chemical Industrial Parks in China" for six consecutive years, and its overall strength has been among the forefront of Chinese chemical industrial parks for 12 consecutive years.
During the on-site inspection, the CSPC Huizhou Phase 3 Ethylene Project and Polycarbonate Project Full Construction Ceremony was held. Upon the completion of the CSPC Huizhou Phase 3 Ethylene Project, the ethylene production capacity of CSPC will reach 3.8 million tons per year, further highlighting its scale benefits. This project will also optimize and integrate with the existing Chemical and Refining Phases I and II projects, further enhancing the integration of refining and chemical processes and improving resource utilization efficiency.
The conference held an investment promotion event for the Huizhou Petrochemical New Materials Industry and a ceremony marking the entry into the trial production phase of the ExxonMobil Huizhou Ethylene Project and Research Center.
The Huizhou Municipal Government also signed strategic cooperation agreements with six institutions.
The event was jointly organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and the Huizhou People's Government.
