Recently, representatives from seven well-known South Korean travel agencies, along with the head of the South Korean market for Air Macau, visited Hengqin to explore new opportunities for cooperation between the region and the South Korean tourism market.
Air Macau & Korea Agent Fam Tour visited Hengqin.
South Korea is a key target market for both Macao and Hengqin. According to the Macao SAR government, over 170,000 South Korean visitors entered Macao in the first quarter of 2025, a 33% year-on-year increase, making South Korea the largest international source market for the city. In May this year, the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin joined the Macao Government Tourism Office in Seoul to carry out promotional activities.
The delegation visited Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort.
The delegation entered Hengqin via Hengqin Port after departing from Macao, enjoying a fast and convenient border-crossing experience. During the visit, they toured several attractions, including the Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Experience Hall, Serensia Woods Hotel, and Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort.
Representatives from the South Korean travel agencies remarked that Hengqin and Macao offer rich tourism resources. They expressed strong interest in deeper cooperation, especially with the "multi-stop itinerary" model connecting Hengqin and Macao.
The region plans to collaborate with travel agencies and major airlines to develop themed itineraries and products tailored to South Korean tourists, such as family-friendly and health-focused vacations. A representative from Air Macau also noted plans to increase direct flights between Macao and major cities in South Korea, such as Seoul and Busan.
