A unique scene of the winter starry sky appeared recently over Gaozhou Reservoir in Maoming where the sky was clear and cloudless with less water vapor, providing an excellent opportunity to observation.
On January 4, shutterbug A Jian captured a breathtaking starry night while photographing the first meteor shower of 2025 at the Gaozhou Reservoir in Gaozhou, Maoming, Guangdong.
Gaozhou Reservoir with wide water surface, little light pollution and an excellent ecological environment, makes it a great place locally for observing and photographing astronomical phenomena.
"I originally intended to photograph the first meteor shower of 2025, but due to a wrong estimation of the direction, I missed it. This set of starry night pictures was a bonus," said A Jian.
