Starting from January 1, 2024, motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles in Guangzhou, such as electric bicycles, regular bicycles, electric unicycles, and electric scooters, will be prohibited from entering parks, squares, and pedestrian streets at all times of the day.

According to the new regulation, motor vehicles will be prohibited from entering public places, such as the banks of rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, in the central urban areas of each district, 24 hours a day.
Violators will receive a warning for the first offense, and if caught again, they will face fines ranging from 50 RMB to 200 RMB. Individuals who receive three or more warnings or penalties in a year will be included in the public credit information management system.
With a focus on enhancing public safety, this regulation is the first of its kind in the country to address the management of motor and non-motor vehicles in public spaces.
