More than 100 artists showcasing cross-disciplinary works, trendy IP pop-ups, an art exhibition where you can shop to your heart's content, close interactions with art masters, and a special digital art exhibition… As 2024 draws to a close, Longgang, Shenzhen, is set to host a grand celebration of art.
From November 28, 2024, to January 5, 2025, the inaugural "100+ Asia Art Season" will be held in Longgang District, Shenzhen. Featuring artists from 10 countries and regions across Asia, the event will include a series of activities, offering a seamless blend of art appreciation and shopping for an immersive experience.
The Art Season features two exhibition venues: the main venue at the Buji Culture and Sports Center (布吉文体中心), and a secondary venue at Dafen Art Museum (大芬美术馆). Notably, this will be the first public appearance of the soon-to-be-completed Buji Culture and Sports Center.
The Art Season will showcase over 1,000 works spanning photography, installation, video, design, and other art forms, offering a multi-dimensional visual impact and cultural inspiration that will ignite the thoughts and imagination of every viewer.
This year's Art Season is divided into four main sections: 100+ FAIR: Explore Asia, 100+ STYLES: Live Asia, 100+ GOODS: Discover Asia, and 100+ SPECIALS: Special Projects. During the event, over 20 activities will take place, including the 100+ Talents: Asian Artists Exhibition, 100+ Digital Art Special Exhibition, Echoing Asia Music Performances, a Creative Journey and book signing by Yoshihiko Ueda, and the ARTDig Pop-Up Exhibition.
The highlight of this Art Season, the 10x10 Masters of Asian Art Exhibition, will be held at the Dafen Art Museum. The 10x10 Masters of Asian Art Exhibition takes "Asian Portraits" as its starting point, presenting works by 10 outstanding artists. Featuring a diverse range of mediums including photography, installation, video, and design, the exhibition highlights creations from China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The exhibition will feature works by esteemed masters, including Japan's legendary photography icon Yoshihiko Ueda, internationally acclaimed design maestro Kaoru Kasai, a prominent figure in contemporary Thai art Yanawit Kunchaetong, and renowned poster artist Huang Hai, known for his iconic designs for films such as Star Wars, The Seventh Seal, Cinema Paradiso, and My Neighbor Totoro. These masterpieces will be on display in Longgang, offering a unique opportunity to experience the work of these artists.
