An online sales platform was launched in Shaoguan, Guangdong province, to support the sustainable growth of local agricultural products, according to local authorities.
The platform was introduced during an agricultural product showcase and promotional event on Friday and Saturday at the foot of Danxia Mountain, a UNESCO-listed natural world heritage site part of China's Danxia landforms, known for its reddish rock formations.

The event doubled as a festival to promote agricultural products and as an opportunity for local authorities to explore new ways to combine agriculture, culture, and tourism.
Shaoguan's annual edible mushroom production makes up over 60 percent of Guangdong's total. By launching the platform, local authorities aim to create a sustainable online sales channel that connects online shoppers with Shaoguan's specialties, such as mushrooms, pomelos, and white tea, along with tourism attractions like night tours of Danxia Mountain, homestays, and hot springs.
