Oil tea harvesting in Guangdong has reached its peak following the Frost's Descent (Shuangjiang) solar term.
Harvesting is now underway across major producing areas, including Heyuan, Meizhou, Shaoguan, Qingyuan and Maoming. The province-wide harvest is expected to be completed by late November.

Key oil-tea-producing counties, including Longchuan County in Heyuan, and Xingning and Pingyuan counties in Meizhou, are reporting a bumper harvest. In parts of Qingcheng District in Qingyuan, fresh fruit yields have topped 450 kilograms per mu (1 mu = 666.67 square meters), while some plantations in Xingning have yielded more than 700 kilograms per mu. Overall production in Qingyuan is up more than 20 percent, with output also rising steadily in Heyuan, Yangjiang and other areas.
