The Zhaoqing competition zone began its first event of China's 15th National Games today (June 13) with the Women's U-18 football finals. Hosts Guangdong faced Zhejiang in the opening match following the kick-off ceremony.

The finals, running from June 13 to 24 in Zhaoqing, feature 12 teams advancing from 22 qualifiers. The teams are divided into three groups:

Group A: Guangdong (hosts), Zhejiang, Shaanxi, Hainan

Group B: Shanghai, Hebei, Beijing, Hunan

Group C: Sichuan, Hubei, Shandong, Jiangsu

Teams will first play round-robin matches within their groups. The top two teams from each group, plus the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the eight-team knockout stage. The remaining teams will compete for 9th-12th place rankings.

Guangdong began their campaign against Zhejiang on home turf today.
