In Pics | Guangzhou's sunflower fields in full bloom create a golden winter wonderland

As winter blankets northern China in snow, the fields of Donglong Village in Dagang Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou, are awash with a sea of gold. Over 40 hectares of sunflowers are currently in full, radiant bloom, offering a heartwarming and picturesque escape for visitors, all free of charge.

This stunning display has quickly become a local favorite. The sunflowers, with their large, vibrant heads ranging in color from deep amber to soft yellow, stand tall amidst lush green leaves. Up close, the intricate details of the blossoms and the busy bees flitting between them showcase the vivid pulse of life. A gentle breeze sets the flowers nodding softly, creating a serene and joyful atmosphere

The fields have become a popular backdrop for photos. Visitors are seen posing beside the bright blooms, their smiles mirroring the flowers' own cheerfulness, resulting in lively and vibrant scenes.

The sunflower display is accessible by taking the N42 bus to Donglong Village Station or Heng'erdui Intersection Station, with the fields visible immediately after disembarking. For those driving, roadside parking is available near the village lanes. The best viewing times are early morning for soft light or late afternoon for gorgeous sunset hues, while avoiding the harsh midday sun.

The blooming period is expected to last for over a month, making now the perfect time for a visit. As a gentle reminder to visitors, the sunflowers are cultivated by local villagers. Everyone is encouraged to admire and photograph the flowers from the paths without stepping into or damaging the fields, helping to preserve this beautiful landscape for all to enjoy.
