China advanced to the semifinals of the AFC Women's Asian Cup after beating Chinese Taipei 2-0 in their quarterfinal clash on Saturday.

Neither side managed to score in regular time. China broke the deadlock in extra time, as Shao Ziqin fired a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom-right corner in the 94th minute. Two minutes from time, an own goal from Chen Ying-hui doubled China's lead.

The defending champion China will face host Australia in their semifinal match on Tuesday.
