Meizhou, Guangdong Province, is home to a diverse array of wild birds, reflecting the city's steadily improving ecological environment and abundant green spaces.

Forests, rivers, and wetlands provide vital habitats for species including great tit, verditer flycatcher, Chinese hwamei, fork-tailed sunbird, spotted dove, and egret.

Throughout the year, different bird species bring color and vitality to the city. Orange-bellied leafbirds appear amid spring blossoms, common kingfishers enliven summer lotus ponds, and flocks of egrets gather along the Meijiang River in autumn. Even in winter, white-eyes remain active among the trees.
