A scenic spot hailed as the "Reclining Buddha Holding the Sun" has recently become a popular attraction in Zhaoqing, Guangdong province.

The rare astronomical spectacle appears when the sun sets just behind a far-off mountain silhouette that resembles Buddha. In that instant, countless golden streams spill out from the "Buddha's mouth", and flecks of gold shimmer and dance upon the city's Xinghu Lake.

The stunning view at Xinghu Lake is famed for its three traits: divinity, wonder, and uniqueness. Every year, the sublime scene draws a large number of tourists and photographers from home and abroad.

It is a rare scenic wonder that visitors come to admire, according to the Xinghu National Wetland Park.

The seasonal phenomenon has entered its best viewing season, from Sept. 9 to Sept. 23.
