Samoa museum official: It’s inspiring to witness how Guangdong protects cultural heritage

Guangdong has brought its cultural exchange event “2026 Charming China (Guangdong): Lingnan Culture Travels to the South Pacific” to Apia, Samoa, on August 4, offering local audiences an opportunity to experience the province’s culture through storytelling, cultural gift donations, film screenings, product showcases and more.

“It’s inspiring to witness how cultural heritage has been carefully protected while remaining an active and meaningful part of everyday life in Guangdong,,” said Sharon Roma, Principal Museum Officer of the Museum of Samoa, during a storytelling session at the event, recalling her visit to Guangdong.

She added that she hoped the two sides could further deepen cooperation in cultural exchange, education and heritage preservation.
