Türkiye opposes any military operation against Iran and supports efforts to preserve regional stability, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said here on Thursday.
At a press briefing, Fidan said he hoped the United States and Iran would resolve the matter between themselves, either through mediators, other parties, or direct negotiations.
He stressed that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving disputes, warning that any large-scale instability in Iran would exceed the region's capacity to absorb its consequences.
Emphasizing Türkiye's close ties with its eastern neighbor, Fidan said developments in Iran are of direct concern to Ankara.
Fidan added that Iran must address its internal problems, resolve disputes with neighboring countries, and pursue diplomacy on the nuclear issue to remove the structural causes of its economic difficulties.
