Walk, wild & wow: Experiencing Guangzhou's National Games vibrancy

To celebrate the upcoming 15th National Games of China, we joined hundreds of people for a special walk along what is hailed as Guangzhou's most beautiful riverside route — from the Canton Tower to Party Pier.

It wasn't just about fitness; it was about feeling the heartbeat of the city, sharing in the excitement of the Games, and witnessing how sports connect everyone — locals and international friends alike. The Pearl River sparkled beside us, the Canton Tower rose ahead, and every step felt like a part of Guangzhou's vibrant rhythm.

But the day didn't end there. In the afternoon, we headed to Chimelong Safari Park, one of Asia's largest wildlife parks, to get up close to animals from around the world. For many of us, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience — seeing camels, lions, and giraffes roaming freely around us. It's a place where humans and nature truly coexist in harmony, and every encounter reminds us of the wonders of our world.

As night fell, we returned to the iconic Canton Tower and climbed up to the 488-meter observation deck. The city lights stretched endlessly below — dazzling, peaceful, and full of stories.

From walking along the Pearl River to exploring the wild and seeing the city from the sky, we felt the energy, diversity, and spirit of Guangzhou — a city that is always in motion.
