December 3 marks the second anniversary of the opening of the China-Laos Railway. On that day, the 3,200th China-Laos freight train departed from Zengcheng Railway Logistics Park in Guangzhou and was set to arrive in Vientiane, Laos within six days.
According to China Railway Guangzhou Group Co., Ltd., over the past two years, more than 60,000 tons of products manufactured in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) have been exported through the China-Laos Railway, supporting the international industrial and supply chains with stable and efficient logistics services.
From January to November this year, over 36,000 tons of goods were sent via the railway from the GBA, doubling year-on-year.
Relying on the railway, the GBA has established closer trade relationships with Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, among other countries and regions.
The variety of transported goods has increased to more than 100 types, including electronic products, furniture, and grain. The railway logistics parks in the GBA, including the Guangzhou International Port, Guangzhou's Zengcheng, Shenzhen's Pinghu South, and Jiangmen North, have been operating in tandem, with two to three cargo trains departing every week on average.
