The 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress kicked off in Guangzhou on January 26, 2026, revealing Guangdong's economic aggregate ranking first in China for 37 consecutive years.
After attending the congress, Ahmad Gholamipour, Consul General of Iran in Guangzhou, told South that the Guangdong economy is on the way to progress more and more. It could be expected that the achievement will be further improved in the future.
He expected more collaboration between Iran and Guangdong. Citing himself as an example, he said he has been using some home appliances made in Foshan, electronic devices made in Shenzhen, and other commodities produced in Guangzhou.
Guangdong province can supply the world. He hailed Guangdong province as the factory of China, as better say, the factory of the world.
