This initiative offers a glimpse into the peaceful rural life that lies just a short distance from bustling urban centers.
Escape to serenity: Zhongshan's rural experiences
Visitors have immersed themselves in the serene beauty of Yongmo Village and Yakou Village, enchanted by the peaceful atmosphere and stunning landscapes.
"I, like many visitors, have been drawn to the area's calm and natural beauty," shared Zhuang Zining, a coffee shop owner in Yakou Village. "Because I love drinking coffee and appreciate the environment here, I chose to come. I wanted to enjoy myself while meeting more friends."
Traveling from Guangzhou to the village is also convenient. "It's really close. It's hard to believe that such a peaceful place exists so near to Guangzhou," remarked international students from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
Culinary delights and cultural heritage
The campaign has highlighted Zhongshan's culinary heritage, with traditional dishes like winter melon cakes delighting visitors' taste buds.
Liang Ji Winter Melon Cake, a traditional delicacy passed down through generations, has gained new popularity during the campaign. The owner of the winter melon cake shop, Zheng Yinghao, explained, "Liang Ji Winter Melon Cake was passed down from my parents' generation. We used to make this dim sum with my master. Now, we continue to produce the winter melon cake here, and our income has doubled."
The winter melon cake's unique flavor and texture have wowed international students. "It's sweet! The biscuit is really crunchy, and the inside is very creamy."
As the campaign continues, more visitors are expected to discover the hidden treasures of Zhongshan's countryside and experience the simple joys of rural life.
