On September 9, representatives from foreign friendship cities and organizations of Guangdong Province visited key industries in Nansha District, Guangzhou, the provincial capital.

Their itinerary included visits to the automotive sector, biomedicine and medical devices, and autonomous vehicles, providing participants with a firsthand look at the region's technological innovations.

During the visit, they were impressed by the cutting-edge technologies and the developments. El-Tanani told South that following the 2024 signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Promoting Exchanges and Cooperation with Guangdong Province, RAK is actively advancing collaboration with various organizations in Guangdong.

"We have already started student exchanges with Guangzhou, and the first batch of students from RAK is scheduled to arrive in January 2026," said El-Tanani.

Meanwhile, Sushil Prajapati, president of the Arniko Society and assistant professor at the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Bir Hospital, Nepal, highlighted innovations in ophthalmology, noting that introducing such technologies to his country would represent a significant advancement for patients.

Lee Joo Seng, CEO of ESTEK and member of the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association, expressed interest in leveraging Guangzhou's smart city operation and management systems and autonomous vehicle technologies to address traffic management challenges in Malaysia.

The Nansha visit is part of a five-day tour from September 8 to 12. In the coming days, the group will continue their visits in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, exploring Guangdong's technological advancements, experiencing local culture, and seeking opportunities for cooperation and technology exchange.
