The 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) kicks off in Guangzhou, the provincial capital of Guangdong, on April 15, with a total exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, approximately 74,000 booths, and featuring around 31,000 participating enterprises.
Philip Richardson, an American buyer and General Manager of Trueanalog Strictly OEM in Guangzhou, has lived in China for nearly 30 years and has established deep relationships with the Canton Fair. He first participated in the fair in 1998. This year, he is joining GDToday’s Explore 137th Canton Fair Live to share his insights on American President Donald Trump's new tariff policies and their impact on Chinese manufacturers and American superstores.
With summer break approaching and American retailers needing clothing, books, and electronics, the next 30 days are critical. “This has created such a clog. Something must be resolved,” Richardson emphasizes, calling for swift action.
