Collaboration between Guangdong and Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), in the United Arab Emirates, has been gaining momentum since the two sides signed a cooperation agreement in late 2024, according to Alya AlGhais, an international relations specialist at the Office of the RAK Ruler.
She made these remarks in an exclusive interview with South on September 12, during a visit to Guangzhou, the capital city of South China's Guangdong Province.
As part of a recent five-day tour of Guangzhou and Shenzhen, representatives from Guangdong's foreign friendship cities and organizations visited enterprises in sectors ranging from automobile manufacturing and new energy to biomedicine and robotics, highlighting the province's role as a hub of innovation and industry.
AlGhais noted that Guangdong's advancements in sustainable mobility, smart city technology, and biomedical innovation align with RAK's development priorities.
She added that since the agreement, cooperation has expanded to include eVTOL transport, university partnerships, cultural exchanges, and heritage preservation, with both sides confident that the collaboration will continue to provide shared opportunities.
