China's Foreign Ministry announced on May 11 that U.S. President Donald Trump will pay a state visit to China from May 13 to 15.
At the recently concluded 139th Canton Fair, American buyer Mark Juarez, founder and CEO of The Happy Company, told South that Trump values relations with China. As a Canton Fair buyer for 29 years, Juarez said he hopes the visit will help foster a more stable, win-win economic relationship between the world's two largest economies, adding that stronger ties would benefit not only both countries but also the rest of the world.
Juarez first attended the fair in 1997. Today, he says, visiting China feels "like stepping into the future," citing significant improvements in products, innovation, and the overall environment. For him, the Canton Fair is about far more than sourcing products. He values the opportunity to meet manufacturers face-to-face, understand the inspiration behind designs, and build connections that bridge countries.
