A delegation of 20 journalists from 17 Latin American countries visited Guangzhou on December 1 to attend the 2025 Understanding China Conference, gaining firsthand insights into China's 15th Five-Year Plan, the country's development blueprint for the next five years.
The 2025 Understanding China Conference is being held in Guangzhou from November 30 to December 2, under the theme "New Plan, New Development, New Choices: Chinese Modernization and New Vision for Global Governance." Approximately 200 delegates from 72 countries and regions are attending the conference.
Through exchanges with experts and observations, the journalists explored how China's rapid modernization and open policies are creating new opportunities for cooperation with Latin America. Participating journalists highlighted China's growing global role, the expanding opportunities for China-LATAM collaboration, and the shared potential in sectors such as industry, agriculture, trade, and maritime connectivity.
