At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a two-day state visit to China from May 19 to 20. During his visit, President Putin delivered important remarks on the Russia-China relationship.
He noted that the close strategic partnership between Russia and China plays an important stabilizing role on the international stage. Putin stated, "Our friendship is not directed against third parties, but pursues peace and common prosperity." He further elaborated that it is based on this very logic that Russia and China coordinate their actions to jointly safeguard the integrity, indivisibility, and interconnection of international law and the principles of the UN Charter, while maintaining active cooperation within the UN, the SCO, BRICS, and other multilateral frameworks, making significant contributions to resolving pressing global and regional issues.
