Every autumn, in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, a folk parade dating back nearly 600 years brings the streets and alleys to life.
This autumn, the Foshan Qiuse Parade was back and made its way to Xiqiao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City. This was not your grandma's folk parade.
Under the autumn night sky, it was cooler than ever. On October 24, at the foot of Xiqiao Mountain and beside Tingyin Lake, the 2026 Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Week and Foshan Qiuse Parade Xiqiao sub-venue lit up.
Lanterns glowed. Floats lined up. Music filled the air. The parade moved out from Tingyin Lake Plaza, winding about 3.3 kilometers through the streets.
This parade was more than a spectacle. More importantly, it brought tradition to life.
