French energy giant EDF plans to invest in a prefabrication facility supporting nuclear power plant construction in Guangdong in 2027.
Speaking at the 2026 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Jean-Philippe Lamarcade, EDF Group Vice-President and Chairman of EDF China, said Guangdong's strength lies in the close coordination among its industrial partners, government authorities, financial institutions and research institutes.
In a couple of days, EDF can have every party sit at the same table—from people who can provide the technical solutions to people who can finance them, Lamarcade said.
For EDF, this ability to quickly connect technology, financing and industrial resources is a key reason to invest in Guangdong again.
