A group of 19 international students from prestigious universities, including Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Sun Yat-sen University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), embarked on a summer field trip to Nansha, Guangzhou, on August 5.
The participants came from 13 countries and regions, including Russia, the United States, France and Brazil.
The trip featured a technology-focused stop at Nansha International Talent Harbor, where students tried out autonomous driving vehicles from Pony.ai. They also visited the GAC Technology Museum to explore new energy and intelligent connected vehicles.
In Dongchong Town, the students immersed themselves in Lingnan's intangible cultural heritage, practicing Xiajiaquan martial arts and making traditional wedding cakes by hand.
"Through this experience, I gained a deep understanding of Lingnan's wedding customs. It was truly unforgettable," said Sheh Muhammad Mushibrah, a Pakistani student.
The tour also took them to a waterbird sanctuary and Zhizheng Farm, where they observed rare birds and picked seasonal fruits.
"Nansha is a vibrant city with modern automobile factories, automated ports, wetland parks and large orchards. It's truly a place to remember," said Jesse Freeborn from the United States.
The event was organized by the Greater Bay Area (Nansha) International Communication Center under the guidance of the Publicity Department of Nansha District.
