The Greater Bay Area International Sports Tourism Forum opened on June 22 at the Nansha Marina in Guangzhou. During the event, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Academy signed a cooperation agreement with the Yingdong Education Center to establish a training base in Nansha.
PSG Academy GBA Chairman Yannick Ngassa said in an exclusive interview that the base will select top local talent to compete in the club's World Cup tournament in Paris. "Our mission is to bring PSG's world-class training philosophy to families across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao," he said, adding that former PSG stars such as Lionel Messi serve as an inspiration.
The initiative follows the academy's launch in Hong Kong and Macao in 2023, further strengthening sporting ties between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Paris.
