The First Senior Officials' Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM1), the first event of APEC China 2026, were being held in Guangzhou from February 1 to February 10.
The meeting will focus on "Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together," the theme of APEC 2026, along with its three priorities: openness, innovation, and cooperation.
"We are delighted to be in China, a leading country in technology," said Mahesh Appannan, Director of the Digital Health Division at Malaysia's Ministry of Health. He expressed his hope to gain deeper insights into China's policies and measures in the fields of technology and healthcare.
