On July 31, the "2026 Charming China (Guangdong): Lingnan Culture Travels to the South Pacific" event was held in Papua New Guinea (PNG), offering a vibrant showcase of traditional Lingnan intangible cultural heritage alongside cutting-edge modern technology.

The event featured a gift presentation ceremony, "See You in Guangdong" story-sharing session, "Guangdong Goods, Global Reach" product expo and the IP Guangdong photography display.

"I'm deeply impressed by the exhibits brought by the Guangdong delegation, including intangible cultural heritage items and a dazzling array of modern technological products," said Yang Xiaoguang, Chinese Ambassador to PNG.

He added that the exhibition combines an ancient China with a modern China, and noted that "it fully demonstrates the profoundness of Chinese culture and China's development achievements today."
The Ambassador also showed particular interest in the practical application of the technological products on display, such as the AI glasses, the electronic guitar and the wearable exoskeleton. "I didn't expect that today they are already around us. And they have already been marketed."

"Guangdong's products are indeed very rich and diverse. I think they have broadened my horizons. There will be a big market for them here in PNG," said Yang.
