A group of students played Guangdong-made stringless guitars in joyful chorus at the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea (PNG) on July 30.
The scene took place during the Open House Day of the Chinese Embassy held in PNG's capital Port Moresby.
The stringless guitars were brought by a Guangdong cultural delegation currently visiting the country. Each has an LED-lit fretboard that shows players where to press. This allows even beginners to play a full song within minutes.
Beyond the stringless guitars, the Guangdong delegation also showcased a diverse array of cutting-edge products representing the province, including AI-powered smart translation glasses, an exoskeleton robot and compact pocket cameras.
The products form part of the "Guangdong Goods, Global Reach" exhibition, one strand of the "2026 Charming China (Guangdong): Lingnan Culture Travels to the South Pacific" series of exchange events.
Running in PNG through August 2, the program is one of Guangdong's major international communication activities in 2026. Blending cultural showcases, Guangdong product displays, live stage performances and hands-on intangible cultural heritage workshops, it aims to bolster grassroots exchanges between Guangdong and South Pacific countries.
