Torchbearers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao jointly light 15th National Games flame

The 15th National Games of China opened with a symbolic gesture of unity as athletes from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao together lit the main flame at the opening ceremony. The final batch of torchbearers were Su Bingtian, Asia's 100-metre record holder; Cheung Ka-long, Hong Kong's Olympic men's foil champion; and Li Yi, Macao's Wushu gold medalist at the Asian Games.

The joint lighting by athletes from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao marked the culmination of the nationwide journey and the first time the three regions have co-hosted China's premier sporting event, reflecting the unity and vitality of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
