The 2025 Five-Person Dragon Boat Race was held on September 29 at Jili River in Nanzhuang Town, Chancheng District, Foshan. Covering 28 kilometers, the "Dragon Boat Marathon" embodies Lingnan's water-town culture and the spirit of unity, progress, and perseverance.
This year's race drew a record 249 teams—an increase of more than 17% from last year—including many from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cities such as Guangzhou, Jiangmen, and Hong Kong. Participation in the Open Category nearly doubled compared to the previous year.
This year's rewards set a new benchmark, with total prize money exceeding 700,000 yuan and over 700 cases of beverages and alcohol. The race is also a highlight of the "Che Shui Ma Long" cultural feast, which features the Appealing Auto Purchase, Charming Water Town Tour, and Golden Autumn Fire Dragon Dance.
