Sunshine, beach, music! All at Zhuhai Changqin Island | MicroInPixels

Changqin Island (长琴岛), also known as Sanjiao Island, is China's first development project on an uninhabited sea island.

Just a few years ago, this tropical island was uninhabited and ecologically damaged due to quarrying. After six years of ecological restoration, it has transformed into a music-themed resort and was officially opened to the public with a ceremony on April 28, 2023.

The name "Changqin" is inspired by Taizi Changqin, a mythical figure from The Classic of Mountains and Seas, an ancient Chinese text. According to legend, Taizi Changqin, the son of the fire god Zhurong, was the first to create music through the wind. He is long revered in Chinese mythology as the God of Music.

With limited commercial development, the island preserves much of its natural landscape while offering adequate vacation facilities. Visitors can stay in RVs, tents, or hotel-style apartments and enjoy amenities such as restaurants, cafés, lounges, indoor golf, and water sports. During the upcoming May Day holiday, there will be open-air live music.

Changqin Island remains relatively undiscovered, making it ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. You can watch boats drift by and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets painting the shore.

Travelers can reach the island by ferry from Zhuhai Jiuzhou Port. Tickets are available through the Jiuzhou Port's official WeChat account.
