Martin Jacques: China won't be Westernized and doesn't expect others to be like it

"China is never going to be Westernized in that same way as we are," renowned British scholar Martin Jacques said in a recent interview with Middle East Eye (MEE), drawing on Francis Fukuyama to argue that China's governance is rooted in a tradition spanning thousands of years.

He added that China's approach is not to demand that others "be like it", but rather to encourage other countries to become themselves.
