China held a grand military parade in Beijing on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Former Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme, who attended the event, described his participation as "a token of friendship with the Chinese nation," praising the country's remarkable development.
He emphasized the message from the commemoration that China is a reliable partner for peace and stability and is committed to playing a responsible role on the global stage.
Leterme also expressed support for the Global Governance Initiative, which is based on the principles of sovereign equality, international rule of law, multilateralism, a people-centered approach, and concrete action.
He highlighted that these values can be endorsed by leaders worldwide, adding that with China as a partner, the international community has a stronger chance of overcoming conflicts and working toward a brighter future.
