On the evening of July 3, Guangzhou's iconic Canton Tower in Guangdong, S China, lit up to celebrate the official launch of South—Guangdong's flagship international communication platform.
Formerly known as GDToday, South marks a new chapter in the province's international communication efforts. South special correspondents gathered at the landmark to commemorate the occasion. In the future, they will work with South to create premium content for global audiences.
South is a media outlet under the Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily) dedicated to international communication. As Guangdong's leading platform for international communication and its primary source for the world to learn about the province, South delivers accurate, timely news and rich audiovisual content in English, Portuguese, French, and other languages as well as Cantonese.
Rooted in Guangdong province and deeply engaged with southern China, South also organizes diverse cultural exchange activities, connecting local narratives with global audiences. It now stands as a leading regional hub for international communication in southern China and a key media voice for the Global South.
