Haris Chandra, Permanent Senior Honorary Chairman of the Indonesia Guangdong Association Federation, said Chinese brands have settled in Indonesia with remarkable results. "Since the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway opened, local consumers have formed positive recognition of Chinese brands," he noted. "Guangdong products should seize this momentum and be further promoted to Indonesia, especially tech products."
Having previously worked in the building materials industry, he recalled that 30 years ago the focus was on low price and good quality, but today things have completely changed. Having imported almost all goods and raw materials from Guangdong for years, he hopes such events can introduce outstanding Guangdong enterprises to Indonesia.
"Indonesia still has much to learn from China in this regard," he added. The event, "Guangdong Meets the Asia-Pacific: Guangdong Goods, Global Reach" Indonesia promotion, was held in Jakarta on September 22, showcasing over 60 Guangdong products, from Lingnan cuisine and trendy toys to lifestyle goods and smart technology.
