China has expanded zero-tariff treatment to all 53 African countries with diplomatic ties, effective May 1, covering 100% of tariff lines. From partial exemptions for least developed countries in 2005 to full coverage for 33 least developed countries in 2024, market access has steadily widened.
On the same day, Phase 3 of the 139th Canton Fair opened under the theme "Better Living", bringing together more than 12,000 exhibitors across 515,000 square meters. Buyers from around the world, including those from Africa, have been arriving in large numbers.
