Canton Fair opens first medical services zone in 70-year history as global buyers show interest in TCM and AI healthcare

The 140th Canton Fair opened on October 14 in Guangzhou and runs through November 4 in three phases, with about 340,000 overseas buyers expected to attend.

This year marks the first time in the fair's 70-year history that a dedicated International Medical Services Zone has been set up. Under the theme "Fair2Care," the zone brings together nearly 30 top medical institutions from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, offering global buyers a hands-on experience of China's international healthcare capabilities—from cutting-edge technology to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

At the zone, overseas buyers were seen trying TCM massage and other treatments, with many expressing keen interest in China's medical services. Language support emerged as a top concern for international patients considering seeking care in China, while AI applications in healthcare also drew considerable attention from international visitors.
