Guangdong's Yingge Dance meets ballet in Moscow during Spring Festival

On February 18, the second day of the Chinese New Year, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, the Fumei Youth Yingge Team from Puning, Guangdong, visited the Moscow State Choreographic School named after L. M. Lavrovsky for a performance exchange.

During the event, a cross-cultural dialogue unfolded between traditional Chinese folk dance and Western classical ballet, featuring Yingge dance, Siberian folk dance, and ballet. Faculty and students held the Yingge sticks and tried learning the dynamic movements. The school previously toured eight cities across China in 2019, staging 12 performances.

Akhmetov Aidar Mansurovich, Director of the Moscow State Choreographic School named after L. M. Lavrovsky, said: "We are brought together by dance, and the children truly love it. We should continue to deepen our cooperation by organizing more performances and workshops, learning from each other's experiences. This is a wonderful beginning. I hope China and Russia will always maintain such close ties, grow together, and move forward hand in hand."
