The 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) kicks off in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, on April 15. The fair boasts a total exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, featuring approximately 74,000 booths and around 31,000 participating enterprises.
Philip Richardson, an American Buyer and General Manager of Trueanalog Strictly OEM in Guangzhou, has lived in China for nearly 30 years and has developed strong relationships with the Canton Fair. He first participated in the event in 1998. And this year, he joins GDToday’s Explore 137th Canton Fair Live and shares his insight on the American President Donald Trump's new tariff policies and how they affect the U.S. consumers and Chinese factories.
With over 60% of his products exported to the U.S., he emphasizes that “the consumers have always paid the tariffs, not the U.S. government, not the suppliers.”
