On September 10, their last day in Dongguan, the delegation comprised of six influencers from the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region visited Nanshe Ming and Qing Ancient Village.
Gail Eijk, a short video creator from the Republic of Suriname, wore a local traditional costume and performed with Cantonese opera actresses on the ancient stage.
She learned that it's a traditional dress with glamour from the ancient village, which was already very attractive to her.
"Last year, we had 170 years of Chinese in Suriname. I also wore such a traditional dress, but it was different from this one. That one was a little bit modern. This one, I have a feeling like I'm an empress in history right now," she noted.
As for her choice of color, she said that blue is calming and always gives her a sense of relaxation.
On the second day in Dongguan, the delegation also visited the exhibition area of Piececoolm, a trendy toy manufacturer.
Through the on-site splicing of trendy toys with ancient style, Miss Eijk felt the fusion of traditional culture and creativity in Dongguan.
During her visit, she told GDToday that she prefers cultural things, such as lanterns. "If I were to buy one for myself, I would buy one of these," she added.
According to Miss Eijk, she has the privilege that people listen to her in her country owing to her job. She seeks to convey what she has seen during the visit to the trendy toy enterprise, like models of buildings and companies from other countries.
"It's a very creative way to do that," she added.
