On June 10, two programs under the 2026 Short-term Foreign Aid Training Program for Women's Development concluded in Dongguan: the Seminar on Sci-tech Empowerment and Digital Entrepreneurship for Women from Asian Countries and the Seminar on AI Capacity Building for Women from Developing Countries.
The overall program kicked off in Beijing on May 28, with the two seminars opening in Dongguan on June 2 and June 4, respectively.
Since the courses began, 51 female trainees from Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Nepal, Laos, the Maldives, South Africa, the Gambia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, and other countries have gained in-depth understanding of Dongguan's robust manufacturing strength, cultural heritage, and progress in women's development through classroom learning, field visits, and cultural activities.

The seminars aim to foster friendship through women's exchanges while showcasing the achievements of Chinese women to the world. Dongguan, known for its vibrant manufacturing sector, serves as a window into China's development and innovation.

The curriculum was tailored to Dongguan's development profile, focusing on themes such as sci-tech empowerment, digital entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, women's leadership, social governance, and rural revitalization. Experts from Dongguan University of Technology and City University of Hong Kong delivered lectures. Meanwhile, Tan Ping, Chairwoman of the Guangdong Women's Federation, and Lin Lan, Chairwoman of the Dongguan Women's Federation, presented case studies for the two seminars, respectively, sharing practical experience from Guangdong and Dongguan in women's development and tech-empowered entrepreneurship.

Beyond classroom learning, Dongguan opened a window for the trainees to perceive the pulse of China's development through the city's multifaceted landscape. During the program, trainees from both seminars embarked on study tours and cultural experiences across the city. They visited sites including Dongguan Aohai Technology Co., Ltd., Yunxi Peach Blossom Land, China Spallation Neutron Source, DeRUCCI Sleep Museum, and China Art Toy Center. The visit allowed them to experience firsthand Dongguan's strengths in advanced manufacturing, as well as the ecological and cultural highlights of rural revitalization.

At Yunxi Peach Blossom Land in Qingxi Town, the trainees strolled through tea-rice terraces and purple bamboo groves, experienced traditional Chinese tea culture, practiced tai chi, and made handicrafts at the agarwood workshop. At the China Spallation Neutron Source in Songshan Lake, they learned about the facility's applications in areas such as tumor treatment. As a major national project, it showcased China's strengths in basic research. At the China Art Toy Center in Shipai Town, a rich variety of trendy toys offered the trainees a vivid look at Dongguan's dynamic practice of integrating traditional Chinese culture with modern creative industries.
