DG CityBeat | What awaits at Dongguan's 2025 Tea Garden Festival?

DG CityBeat - your daily dose of Dongguan news. I'm your reporter, Maxine. Right now, I'm in Chashan Town of Dongguan City. Today, the 2025 Tea Garden Festival and Dongguan's Intangible Cultural Heritage Blessing Parade are taking place here.

The Tea Garden Festival originates from the blend of Dongyue beliefs and Lingnan culture, formed in the Ming Dynasty, with a history of at least 500 years. This year's parade incorporates intangible cultural heritage elements into the traditional framework. Over 1,000 performers dressed in stunning costumes make up different formations, showcasing historical tales and folk legends. The event also features art toys and an intangible cultural heritage handcraft market, drawing many young residents and tourists.
