Four months after meeting Dongguan exhibitors in France, French art toy entrepreneur Fred Czysz and his son Romain traveled 9,000 kilometers to Dongguan in October to meet their longtime manufacturing partners in person and explore new opportunities.
Three years ago, the father and son founded their brand, Popterror, in Lille, France. Working with Dongguan-based Yixing Toys, they turned their original characters into collectible figures, starting with just 500 pieces. Their products have since reached markets in Europe, the United States and Japan.
During their visit, the pair toured factory workshops, explored local innovations ranging from AI-powered printing to smart glasses, and visited Shipai Town, a major hub for art toys. There, they discovered an industrial network that brings design, prototyping, mold-making and mass production together, helping transform creative ideas into finished products at remarkable speed.
For Fred and Romain, Dongguan offers more than manufacturing expertise. They hope to build a bridge between France and Dongguan, expanding cooperation in design, production and sales across Asian markets.
From original concepts to global distribution, discover how Dongguan's manufacturing ecosystem is helping international creators bring their ideas to life.
