Film "Dear You" previewed in Samoa, Samoa–China Friendship Association VP: "It touched my soul"

Shi Zujie, vice president of the Samoa-China Friendship Association, became tearful while speaking to South after watching the Guangdong-produced film "Dear You" during the "2026 Charming China (Guangdong): Lingnan Culture Travels to the South Pacific" event in Samoa. The film tells the story of overseas Chinese migrants who settled in Thailand generations ago.

Shi said he had first seen the film in Beijing and was deeply moved by its portrayal of overseas Chinese longing for home and sending letters and money back to their families.

The story, he added, mirrored his own experience from 25 years ago. "It touched my soul," he said.
