This blessing came at the remark of Kaan Başkur, the Consul General of Türkiye in Guangzhou, in Guangzhou in South Reader's Salon in Guangzhou in July 3.
He highlighted for years, GDToday has been a trusted source of news, stories, and perspectives, covering Guangdong and other provinces of South China and beyond.
He detailed the story of the devastating earthquakes that hit Türkiye in February 2023. GDToday provided detailed coverage of the tremendous efforts by Chinese friends to send urgently needed aid to the disaster-stricken areas in Türkiye, underlining the deep ties of solidarity between the Turkish and Chinese people.
"Although I wasn’t here at the time, I watched the touching mini-documentary prepared by GDToday, which shined a light on our long-lasting friendship," he added.
As marking the rebranding of GDToday to South, he is confident that the Consul General of Türkiye in Guangzhou will continue close collaboration in the future.
