South Korean influencer falls for Guangzhou's healing vibes

With visa-free stays of up to 30 days now available for travelers from South Korea, China is quickly becoming a top destination for South Korean tourists. Among the many choices, Guangdong has emerged as a popular first stop, attracting visitors with its unique blend of history, culture, and modern city life.

South Korean influencer Yim Eunjoo is one of the many travelers exploring the region. During her visit to Guangzhou, she shared her impressions of the city's distinctive charm.

After visiting Shamian Island, she described it as "a 'little Europe' in Guangzhou," praising its colorful and eye-catching architecture. "It's very exotic…the buildings here are colorful and interesting to look at," she said.

Her favorite stop was Yongqingfang, where she experienced the blend of tradition and modernity. Dressed in a traditional Chinese qipao, she shared her excitement: "This is the most beautiful one I've ever tried. I really love this qipao."

It was also here that she felt what she called Guangzhou's "healing vibes." "When I see it, it feels very healing," she said. "It gives me a calm energy…receiving that feeling is really nice. It's really, really wonderful."

Another highlight was the Cantonese Opera Art Museum. "There's water, a stage, and trees—all combined together," she noted. "It looks amazing in photos."

Food added another layer to her journey. Among the many dishes she tried, fried wontons stood out. "They were really delicious," she said. "I highly recommend you try them."

As more South Korean travelers arrive under the visa-free policy, stories like Yim's reflect a shared sentiment—beyond sightseeing, Guangzhou offers a sense of calm, beauty, and emotional connection. For many, it's not just a destination, but a place to slow down and feel something new.
