The premiere of Dear You in Malaysia was held on June 15, bringing together diplomats, community leaders, and the public.
At the event, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing described the film as "a letter delivered straight to the heart".
He expressed confidence that its story, centered on "Qiaopi" (historical documents comprising letters, account records, and remittance receipts sent by overseas Chinese to their families), family bonds, and overseas Chinese heritage, would resonate deeply with Malaysian audiences.
"Countless ‘Qiaopi’ letters bear witness to the long-standing friendship between China and Malaysia. Passed down through generations, this relationship has continued to reach new heights, underpinned by a deep and enduring foundation," Ouyang said.
